Celebrating
400 Years of
Baptist Heritage

Home StaffLocal ChurchNews & ViewsIssues BulletinLinks

In 2009 Baptists worldwide celebrated 400 years of Baptist heritage.  In 1609, John Smyth and Thomas Helwys established the first Baptist congregation in Amsterdam, Holland.  The Center for Baptist Studies, in conjunction with the Baptist History and Heritage Society, provided information and educational resources for the observance of the 400th anniversary of Baptists. While released in conjunction with the 400th anniversary of Baptists, these materials may be utilized by local churches and other organizations at any time.
